In a nutshell, tasking lets you define the exact area and time window you want imaged, along with specific settings that control how the capture is made. This ensures that you get fresh, relevant images for your projects.

What is Tasking?

Tasking is our on-demand image capture service. Unlike browsing archived images, tasking captures are taken in real time based on your defined criteria. With tasking, you can:

  • Specify Your Area of Interest (AOI):
    Draw or upload the geographic area you want to image. Whether you’re marking a city block, an agricultural field, or an entire region, you can precisely define your AOI.

  • Set a Capture Window:
    Choose the start and end dates for when the image should be taken. Capture windows are flexible with your needs, we support one day tasking window to provide assured date captures.

  • Customize Imaging Parameters:
    Fine-tune settings such as the off-nadir angle, allowable cloud cover, and the spectral bandset. These options help you optimize image quality based on your specific use case.

  • Select Delivery Options:
    Decide how quickly you need the imagery after it’s captured, choosing between standard and expedited delivery options. We will prioritize the delivery accordingly.

What About Recurring Tasking?

For projects that require regular updates—such as monitoring crop health or tracking environmental changes—recurring tasking allows you to schedule multiple captures automatically. Instead of placing separate orders for each image, you set up a single recurring order, and our system generates a series of child orders based on your specified recurrence pattern.

  • Benefits of Recurring Tasking:
    • Consistency: Get regular updates without manual intervention.
    • Efficiency: Save time and streamline your monitoring process. Configure once and sit back!

You don’t need to worry about selecting the recurring product type yourself. Simply provide your desired start date, end date, or number of occurrences, and the system will automatically determine the correct classification and pricing adjustments.
