NDWI GREEN (Normalized Difference Water Index Green)

NDWI Green – Normalized Difference Water Index Green. The green‑band Normalized Difference Water Index (often written as NDWI using green and NIR) is computed from green and NIR reflectance to highlight open water and canopy water content. Compared with SWIR‑based variants, the green–NIR NDWI emphasizes surface water features and can delineate water bodies and moisture‑rich areas, while a deeper NIR choice may improve contrast between water and vegetation or soil in some sensors.
