MTCI (MERIS Terrestrial Chlorophyll Index )

The MERIS Terrestrial Chlorophyll Index (MTCI) is a chlorophyll‑sensitive index derived from MERIS red and red‑edge bands that uses the red absorption feature and the slope of the red‑edge reflectance to estimate canopy chlorophyll content. It increases approximately linearly with chlorophyll over a broad range and has been widely used for large‑area terrestrial vegetation monitoring using MERIS and follow‑on sensors with similar band configurations.
