MCARI (Modified Chlorophyll Absorption Ratio Index)

Modified Chlorophyll Absorption Ratio Index (MCARI) – Modified Chlorophyll Absorption Ratio Index The Modified Chlorophyll Absorption Ratio Index (MCARI) measures the depth of chlorophyll absorption around the red region while reducing sensitivity to illumination conditions and soil or non‑photosynthetic background. By combining green, red, and NIR reflectance in a tailored formula, MCARI is highly responsive to variations in chlorophyll concentration and leaf area, making it suitable for chlorophyll and crop‑health assessment.
