CRI1 (Carotenoid Reflectance Index 1)

The Carotenoid Reflectance Index 1 (CRI1) exploits strong carotenoid absorption around the green–yellow region (near 510 nm) using reciprocal reflectances to quantify carotenoid content. It is sensitive to changes in xanthophyll and related pigments that respond to stress and light conditions, providing insights into non‑photochemical quenching and photoprotective status of vegetation.​
