ARI2 (Anthocyanin Reflectance Index)

The Anthocyanin Reflectance Index 2 (ARI2) is an anthocyanin‑sensitive index that normalizes a visible‑wavelength anthocyanin signal (often derived from green/yellow bands) using NIR reflectance to reduce structural effects. It enhances detection of anthocyanin accumulation in leaves, which is associated with stress responses, senescence, and pigment changes, while minimizing confounding from canopy density differences.​
